Preorders for Samsung's Galaxy S5 began today for AT&T customers with an expected launch of April 11th. But with rumors of the iPhone 6's release right around the corner, should you spring for the Galaxy or wait for the iPhone?

The Galaxy S5 is set for $650 if you're an AT&T customer without a contract, or $200 if you agree to a two-year data and voice package. Sprint is allowing pre-orders in participating stores only, while pre-orders for T-Mobile will begin on March 24. There's still no word on a date for Verizon's pre-orders.

While the iPhone's specs might not seem as impressive as the Galaxy S5's, Apple is all about innovation and are rumored to have a few new tricks up their sleeve. The Touch ID brought in with the iPhone 5S has been copied by Samsung for the Galaxy S5, and the S5 already has enhanced sensitivity features for the touch screen -- something Apple is rumored to be bringing out with the iPhone 6.
So whichever smartphone you choose, be it for specs, innovation, or a brand dedication, it's safe to say that Apple will be looking closely at its biggest competition in the Galaxy S5, making that iPhone 6 release date that much more important.
