With the HTC One 2 expected to be unveiled in a few weeks and Samsung Galaxy S5 will be released in April, the iPhone 6 will face competition by the time it launches this year.
The iPhone 6 is expected to sport a super-strong sapphire crystal display and a more advanced camera. There are rumors that this sequel will feature an even faster A8 chip with a quad-core CPU and graphics.
Recently leaked Apple patents suggest that the phone will have a bigger display to better challenge the likes of Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z and other Android phone and phablets. In anticipation of huge demand, Apple has reportedly ordered 90 million iPhone 6 from Foxconn.
With the Touch ID fingerprint sensor having made an appearance aboard the iPhone 5S, it is expected that the biometric security measure will become something of a standard on flagship models, and make another stop within the iPhone 6's home button.
According to Oled-display.net, a letter from KDB Daewoo Securities claims that Apple is set to release two iPhones this year in Q2 or Q3, one with a 4.7 or 4.8-inch display and the other with a much larger 5.5-inch screen - which jives with reports of an 'iPhablet' in June and the new iPhone 6 later in the year.
It is suggested that the iPhone 6 display might be 4.7/4.8 or 5.5″ size with a 1920x1080p (440ppi), or a 2272×1280 (510ppi) IGZO Display, this would be the first time that Apple would launch one mobile product in two sizes.
So what most likely to happen is, we will see the release of iOS 8 and a larger-screened iPhablet at WWDC in June this year, and the iPhone 6 will be released after that at the second or third quarter of 2014.
