ABC's "The Bachelor 2014" with Juan Pablo Galavis premiered this week, which hit a three-year premiere high seeing a 17 percent jump in viewers.
The show kicked off with the obligatory shots of Juan Pablo in various states of undress showing off his body. Juan Pablo, 32, the former Venezuelan soccer player, enjoys some time with his 4-and-a-half-year-old daughter Camila when he is surprised by a visit from former Bachelor Sean Lowe, who offers some pointers on how he should handle his romantic adventure.
Just before the first limo is set to arrive, Juan Pablo is informed by host Chris Harrison that there will be 27 - not 25 - girls this season because of how much interest they had in him, calling it "Juan Pablo Fever."
Juan Pablo likes what he sees once all the ladies start filing out of the limos. Nurse Nikki pulls out a stethoscope and lets him listen to her heart. Renee from Sarasota has a son, which will clearly bring her and Juan Pablo together. The real showstopper is a music composer Lauren S, who arrives on a "piano bike" playing her own composition. Hairstylist Claire who also speaks Spanish has a special DVD from her late father for her future husband. Not to be outdone, one woman, Clare, shows up seven months pregnant (not really). And one bachelorette, Kelly, brings a date - her dog, Molly.
Will Juan Pablo find his future wife and a stepmother for his daughter? "The Bachelor" airs Mondays at 9 PM ET/PT on ABC. If you miss the first episode of the new season, make sure to go to ABC official website and watch the entire episode for free.
