Tonight, the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals will face off one final time at Busch Stadium for a deciding Game 5, with the series tied at 2-2. The winning team will advance to the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at stake.

Adam Wainwright will take the mound for the Cardinals, who struck out nine and allowed just one run on three hits across seven innings in his Game 1 start. Over the past season, Wainright has gone 19-9 with 219 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.94, lower than his career number of 3.11.
Meanwhile, the fate of the Pirates is placed in the hands of rookie Gerrit Cole, who mans the mound for them. Cole went 10-7 with a 3.22 ERA through nine games in the regular season and notched a win earlier in this series while giving up one run on two hits through six innings with a walk and five strikeouts.
