The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will be broadcast live on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on CBS from the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.
Executively produced by Ken Ehrlich, the Emmy Awards will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, who also serves as a producer on the telecast.
Fans can watch the red carpet show and the backstage camera online through CBS.com at 6:30p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT). The Emmy Awards will be streamed on both CBS.com and Emmys.com.
65th Primetime Emmys Nominees and Winners
Elton John will perform on the Primetime Emmy Awards stage for the first time to pay tribute to the late, world-renowned performer, Liberace, whose HBO biopic, Behind the Candelabra, was nominated for 15 Emmy Awards this year. This performance will accompany the previously announced appearances as presenters by Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, who were both nominated in Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie category for their roles in the film.
The telecast will also pay special tribute to late "Sopranos" actor James Gandolfini, "Family Ties" producer Gary David Goldberg, "Glee" star Cory Monteith, "All in the Family" cast member Jean Stapleton and "Mork and Mindy" actor Jonathan Winters.
"These five individuals brought us such great entertainment and joy, so having their close friends share personal remembrances is something that will be very meaningful for television audiences across the country and across the generations. And, our traditional In Memoriam segment will be presented in a unique new format that will give added importance to an already much anticipated segment of the Emmy show." said Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich.
