The 2013 FedExCup will resume Saturday morning in Chicago, as the third round of the BMW Championship tees off at Conway Farms.
This is the third of four FedEx Cup playoff events that concludes with next week's Tour Championship in Atlanta. The top 30 players will advance to next week's tournament at East Lake for a chance to win a $10 million bonus.
Jim Furyk's 12-under 59 gives him a share of the lead in the second round of the BMW Championship on Friday. Furyk overcame the windy conditions at Conway Farms in Lake Forest by making birdies on his first three holes - 10, 11 and 12. He completed his first nine in 28 shots, aided by holing out from 115 yards on No. 15.
He had a three-putt bogey on No. 5 but made birdies on the seventh and ninth to record a 31 on his final 9.
Furyk became the sixth player in PGA Tour history to shoot 59. It was the first 59 on the PGA Tour since Stuart Appleby in the final round of The Greenbrier Classic in 2010.
The others with a 59 were Al Geiberger in the 1977 Memphis Classic; Chip Beck in the 1991 Las Vegas Invitational; David Duval in the 1999 Bob Hope Classic; and Paul Goydos in the 2010 John Deere Classic.
Furyk and Snedeker are at 11 under, three shots clear of Zach Johnson in third.
