Masters champion Adam Scott won The Barclays at Liberty National Golf Club Sunday by one shot over four other golfers -- Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, Graham DeLaet and Gary Woodland. Scott posted rounds of 69-66-72-66=273 (-11) and moved to a career-best No. 2 in the world.

Woods suffered a back spasm on the par-5 13th hole and hooked a fairway metal so far left that it landed in a swamp on the other side of the 15th fairway. Woods dropped to all fours in pain before slowly getting up.

Woods shot a final-round 69 with five birdies, despite back spasms that started on hole 12. Even after the spasms started, Woods made birdie on 16 and 17.

"I felt great until that tee shot at 12," said Woods. "I was perfectly fine. I was playing good and hanging right there. Unfortunately, I just couldn't finish off the rest of the day."

When asked if he'll play in round two of the playoffs next week in the Deutsche Bank Championship outside of Boston, "That's all hypothetical right now," Woods said, "I'm not feeling my best right now."

Woods will have an extra day to get ready — the tournament starts on Friday.

Four tournaments make up the FedEx Cup Playoffs with the top 100 golfers advancing to the second round, the top 70 to the third round and then 30 advance to the TOUR Championship. A points reset will take place following the third leg, which gives all 30 players in the field a mathematical shot at winning the FedExCup and the $10 million first prize check.
