Have you ever thought of playing and learning tennis from the world’s renowned tennis player, Michael Chang (張德培), at the same time raise funds to bring hope to the Prince of Peace Children's Home orphanage in Tianjin, China dedicated to serving children with special needs?
Michael Chang was inducted in to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2008, and he is the youngest-ever male player to win a Grand Slam singles title when he won the French Open in 1989 at the age of 17. Michael Chang and his wife, Amber Liu (劉安寶), also a professional tennis player, will be at the Mountain View Tennis Center (address: 685 Cuesta Drive, Mountain View, CA 94040) in the San Francisco Bay Area on Monday, July 16th, to hold a tennis charity coaching session from 3:00pm to 4:40pm for tennis fans and especially to fund-raise for the to the Prince of Peace Children's Home orphanage, which Chang whole-heartedly supported for years.
Since time is limited, this fund-raising tennis coaching session can only place 12 people on their coaching list. The fundraising event is through a competitive bidding process. People interested in placing bids to join the fundraising event may call the San Francisco Bay Area tennis coach, Howell Shaw, at (408) 758-8780. The bids to the fundraising event deducting the expenses will all be donated to the Prince of Peace Children's Home orphanage for acquiring transportations to provide rides for the disabled children at their facilities. All personal bids/funds towards the fundraising event may be used towards personal year-end tax returns.
In fact, Chang and his wife has always been passionately promoting tennis and participating in charitable activities and events. He also held a tennis charity coaching session in Southern California in July of last year to fundraise for the Chang Family Foundation (http://www.mchang.com), an Asian Christian sports outreach foundation. Given to the overwhelming response of last year’s Southern California’s tennis charity event, the tennis charity event will be once again held this year at the Newport Beach Tennis Club. The Prince of Peace Enterprises, Inc., an Asian food enterprise, is also one of the sponsors for this fundraising event.
Chang will also personally visit the Prince of Peace Children's Home orphanage again in Tianjin, China, and he is deeply moved. He also has continuously supported the orphanage through the Chang Family Foundation for many years. Located at Wuqing, Tianjin in China, the Prince of Peace Children's Home orphanage was established by Kenneth Yeung, the founder of the Prince of Peace Enterprises, Inc., on July 2004. The orphanage was first approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China and is part of the Chinese-Foreign cooperation. The orphanage was established to take care and serve the disabled children.
The Prince of Peace Children's Home orphanage now have over 110 abandoned disabled children, ranging in age from 6 to 21 years old. Most of these children are suffering from different natural birth disorders such as spinal paralysis, glaucoma, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, Down’s syndrome, and albinism. The Prince of Peace Children's Home orphanage for disabled children is committed to providing the physically disabled orphans with education, medical care, and a loving home.
