The famed couple "Blackie" Charles Chen Chien Chou and "Fan Fan" Christine Fan initiated "Love Life", which took on a tornado style effect from Taiwan across Hong Kong and various places in China. It received societal recognition surrounding the topic of caring and loving children afflicted with cancer. This three-year production of the "Love Life" documentary premiered in China on May 13 (Mother's Day), where Blackie and Fan Fan attended in person.
This mini-documentary is based on three terminal cancer patients and their fights against cancer, starring artists such as Blackie, Fan Fan, Cecilia Cheung, Jay Chou, and A Mei. The goal is to urge everyone to treasure life, to be proactive in facing life's joys and sadness, and to treasure and love the people around us.
In the beginning of the "Love Life" production, Blackie and Fan Fan took on a cancer patient's perspective to record the daily lives and positive attitudes of cancer patients, and to once more promote the importance of love for these children and the importance of treasuring each and every life on earth. What follow was a tornado effect, where the "Love Life" message continued to expand to include many more artists, including A Mei, Lin Chi-ling, Jay Chou, Big and Small S, Kevin Tsai, and Jaycee Fong, who volunteered to participate in the production. Small S (Dee Hsu Hsi-ti) was one of the first people who participated in the first leg of the "Love Life" production, where she actively promoted "Love Life" through many well-known television stations.
In this documentary, Small S appeared as a mother pleading for everyone to contribute to the care and love for children afflicted with cancer. She was extremely cooperative during the filming process, allowing the crew to use her own residence as background, on a purely voluntary basis. Besides, she demonstrated love by being a role model, where she stated, "My neighbor is a child with autism, and I wish to take this opportunity to help more children, and to do more for them."
Chen Chien-Chou: starting with loving your own life
When discussing this journey through China with the aim of spreading love, Chen Chien-Chou shared with us the aim of "Love Life". He stated simply that he wished that everyone could love their own lives from within. It is only when you love yourselves, can you then love and help your family, friends, colleagues, classmates, or even strangers around you, and thus also radiate love in a positive way to your environment. Only then can you utilize more varying avenues to spread "the message of love".
