Chinese Indonesian reformed evangelist Rev. Dr. Stephen Tong continues on his mission of leading many to Christ. His latest stop is in San Diego, California, for a three day gospel rally. Just last week, he was in Philadelphia delivering sermons to the believers there.
Tong’s 2011 San Diego evangelistic rally in United States is coordinated by 10 local Chinese churches. On Friday night, over 900 people gathered in the First United Methodist Church, and it was recorded that around 360 people came forward during the altar call for those who wish to commit their lives to Christ, respond to God’s calling, or to strengthen their faith, according to Rev. Kuo-Liang Lin, event coordinator and senior pastor of Harvest Evangelistic Church of San Diego,
With the theme “The Power of Faith”, Tong, a Christian philosopher and theologian of Hakka ancestry, led the crowd in the passionate exploration of the essence of the Christian faith -the salvation through Jesus Christ, the eternal life.
Dr. Wang-Jie Lin, music director of San Diego Symphony and vice director of Stephen Tong Evangelistic Ministry International, led a 50 people choir in a choral devotion, which sets the listener’s heart Tong’s message.
The three day evangelistic rally is held from April 8-10, 2011. It will continue until Sunday afternoon.
