Aside from the planned hosting of the famous FIFA world cup this June, South Africa is also making serious plans to also host the world in the Global Day of Prayer (GDOP) as it celebrates 10 years of leading the world to pray.
Speaking on the forthcoming event, the President, Global Pastors Network (GPN) and Call2All, Mark AndersonMark Anderson, said that last year, the Global Day of Prayer movement which was founded by Graham Power has successfully mobilized every nation on earth to gather in large crowds and small groups to pray simultaneously on the same day.
He stated: “There is no doubt that the rising surge of the Global Prayer Movement and the accelerated Global Missions has become the greatest strategic alliance of our time. With Call2all in partnership with the Global Day of Prayer, I am inviting you to join me at the Cape Town International Convention Center for Missions and Business Network pre-conference and Network sessions, from May 19-22.”
He noted that attendance at the Network sessions also secures participants attendance at the Global Day of Prayer Celebration Conference on May 20th and 21st coming from 7:00am to 1pm each day, adding that it’s at this forum that people will hear the untold stories of the unheard heroes of the faith.
According to Anderson, there will be other diverse ministries and networks in attendance, and that everyone will altogether join in celebrating God’s story, glory, and call on May 23, 2010 at the Newlands stadium.
He said that the multi-faceted event is excellently planned and coordinated by the GDOP team, as a platform that will reveal the works of God from all around the world, and various categories of life and that so much work has gone into the event in order to guarantee its success.

It’s noted that speakers in this year’s prayer gathering are men and women of prayer who’re drawn from all over the world and they include among others, Rev. Dr. Nicholas Osameyan the Africa Area Director of World Thrust International and the founder and General overseer of His Grace Evangelical Church.
Rev. Mukengeshay Mpunga (Shay) the Director of Campus Crusade for Francophone Africa, with his base as Abidjan, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Dr. Avery T. Willis the Executive Director of the International Orality Network, who also serves as the Ambassador for the Avery T. Willis Center for Global Outreach, Oklahoma Baptist University.
Others are Dr. Paul Eshleman the Vice President, Networks and Partnerships, for Campus Crusade for Christ International and Peter Tarantal, who’s currently the facilitator for the National Christian Leadership Development Forum which seeks to encourage a new generation of leaders to respond to critical leadership issues.
