Influential Chinese Christian educator and director said that China will experience the next wave of great revival in Christianity following after Korea’s revival, and then Islam will experience a great revival.
Dr. Thomas In-sing Leung, honorary chairman and president of Culture Regeneration Research Society, concluded his third of three lectures in Cantonese on “Political Climates”, which are “Canada’s Climate”, “China’s Climate”, and “World’s Climate”, at the brother’s fellowship held at North Richmond Alliance Church in Vancouver at end of Oct.
Speaking from the 19th century, Leung brought up how the Britain dominated the world with its navy, the rise and fall of Russia, and then the influence of World War II towards world politics. Until recently, United States became the world’s superpower, first through industrialization, and then controlled the world’s economy and political pulses through finances. However, with the rise of Islam’s extremists power – Sept. 11 Incident, which caused U.S. to invade Iraq – and the sudden economic crisis, this world’s superpower is knocked over and has fallen into a weakened state, which opens a new generation of world political stage.
“Americans have destroyed the fundamental Christian values upon which their country was founded, such as the homosexual movements, which is the same situation that the collapsing Rome was in. Besides this, the Puritans worked hard to earn money, save money, and donate money, but people today only spent money. The current U.S. national debt has exceeded $10 trillion dollars.”
Comparing the difference between China and United States, Leung said that in the last ten years China’s economic strength has risen, the Chinese are more diligent and persevering, are more inclined to be thrift and to save, so the majority of Chinese were able to endure through the former Asia economic crisis.
Then, he gave an analysis of the prophecies from the Bible, such as wars, natural disasters, environmental pollutions, and others are being fulfilled one after the other, which symbolized the nearness of the end of days. “The world we live in is in crisis, all because of human’s sins – caused by selfishness and greed.”
Having engaged in dialogues with Muslims for some time, Leung spoke of the relationship between Christianity and Islam. From his perspective, he believes that following Korea’s great revival in Christianity will be China’s turn, and then finally it will be Islam’s great revival. “If Christians can clearly explain the gospel to Muslims, and make the followers of Islam follow Jesus, then half of this world’s population will be Christians. In this way, the movement of bringing the gospel back to Jerusalem has begun officially.”
