According to Chinese Coordination Centre of World Evangelism (CCCOWE), Langham Partnership International (LPI) International Ministries Director Rev. Dr. Christopher J. H. Wright has responded officially agreeing to lead the Bible-study at the eighth CCCOWE Conference in 2011.
According to LPI, Wright obtained his doctorate in the field of Old Testament economic ethics in the 1970s. In 1983, he moved to India with his family to teach at Union Biblical Seminary (UBS) in Pune for five years. In 1988, he returned to the U.K. as academic dean at All Nations Christian College, an international training centre for cross-cultural mission. He was appointed principal there in September 1993 and held that post for eight years.
In September 2001 Chris was appointed to his present role as the international director of LPI, taking over the leadership of the overall ministry that was formerly known as the Evangelical Literature Trust and Langham Trust from the influential theologian John Stott in the U.K.
In 1992, Wright published a book titled “Knowing Jesus through the Old Testament” that was voted as the best lay-leader biblical theological literature.
Furthermore, CCCOWE strongly recommend participants of the Eighth CCCOWE conference to read the Wright’s book “The Mission of God: Unlocking the Bible’s Grand Narrative” published in 2006 prior to the conference.
