Located in Northern California in the city of Sunnyvale, America Chinese Evangelical Seminary held its first graduation ceremony on Dec. 8, where 10 students received their Master of Divinity degree, other degrees, and certificates.

ACES graduation ceremony was held in Home of Christ V of Cupertino. Around 300 people gathered, including teachers from various churches, elders and brothers and sisters. Following the choir devotions, scripture readings beginning from 10am, elder Zhao Wuyi, who was representing the graduating class, delivered a speech; ACES president Dr. Chan gave a brief encouraging speech to the graduating class; Dr. Shouren Wang delivered a sermon titled, “Enjoying Beautiful Blessings Together”. After handing out the diplomas and awards, they took group pictures and Rev. Guorui Guan’s closing benediction marked a beautiful ending for this ceremony.

After the ceremony, Rev. Paul Yung once more encouraged the graduating class to be a wonderful witness for the Lord, and all of the graduates also briefly shared their thoughts. The graduating class included the following students: Master of Divinity – Xuelin Dong and Muqin Xu, Masters of Biblical Studies – Hongcheng Li, Daxing Liu, Lai Xin Huang, Yongqing Wu, and Zhao Wuyi, Affiliate/Extended Certificate Program – Lilu Chen, Sheng Jun Shi and Paul Zhang. Muqin Xu received an additional remark for her exception grades.

Dr. Chan expressed that most of the ACES students studied while they worked. In addition to work, they had to take care of their family, so they would use their time of rest to study theology. They were able to have such results because God held on to them. It is priceless.
