Habitat for Humanity is calling on good-willed and faithful Americans to make a difference this summer, not only through volunteering with one of several thousand local projects, but also by giving to the cause “as generously as you can.”
According to the HH news release on June 15, the Christian-based non-profit humanitarian organization has the manpower to build decent, affordable houses for low-income families. What is needed now, the news release read, is “funds to build those Habitat houses.”
For the next two weeks until June 30, 2004, all financial contributions to Habitat will be matched dollar for dollar.
“That means your $50 donation will bring $100 worth of materials to our critical products,” the group wrote. “If you’re able to help again now, with even a few dollars, other special Habitat Friends will match your gift.”
Each dollar will be used to help meet the 2004 goal of building 20,000 homes worldwide this year.
