There will be a third Convocation for Pastors from African-American Churches in Houston from Jan.7 to 10. The theme is "Rooted, Reaching, Transforming."
In this event, there are many leader participants including Violet L. Fisher, bishop of the New York West Area; Rev. Kirbyjon H. Caldwell, senior pastor of Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston; Zan W. Holmes Jr., retired United Methodist pastor from the North Texas Conference.
Covering topics such as “Evangelism and Women Pastors for the Evangelical Task,” Spiritual Authority,” and “Raising Up the Next Generation of Pastors,” this event will acquaint, inspire, and encourage clergy who bear responsibility for the African-American United Methodist congregation and it’s spiritual health.
Saint John’s United Methodist Church will host the event and worship will be offered each day.
