A leading evangelical Chinese ministry is going to hold a retreat specialized on spiritual formation in California for Christians serving in churches.
On April 27-29, the U.S.-based Campus Evangelical Fellowship- Overseas Campus Magazine (CEF-OCM) will host the retreat at the Chinese Bible Church of North Carolina. It targets on all Christians, particularly those serving in churches. The retreat aims to provide time for Christians to experience spiritual renewal and formation in busy lives as well as allowing them to know the journey of being mold as a servant of God.
Editor of OCM and the chairman of CEF USA Rev. Edwin Su is the main speaker of the retreat. On the first two days of the retreat, programs are only arranged in the evening. Rev. Su will speak on the theme "The journey of Being Mold as a Servant of God" and "Understanding Spiritual Formation through the Sermon on the Mount and the Ten Commandments".
The last day, which is a Saturday, will be a full-day program from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Again Rev. Su is going to dig deeper into the theme "Understanding Spiritual Formation through the Sermon on the Mount and the Ten Commandments". Worship and prayer will also be part of the program.
According to Joanna Su, the wife of Rev. Edwin Su, the emphasis on self-meditation will be the characteristic of this retreat. She said many Chinese Christians have joined some retreats and tried to listen to many messages, but meditation is actually very important as well. The retreat this time is designed to encourage more of this aspect.
The retreat is actually held every year by CEF-OCM with different themes. It is being widely promoted among the local churches at the area that it is held. It has proven to be very popular based on the past experience.
