A leading Taiwan-based Christian media GOOD TV has launched a new education channel focusing on spiritual training and guidance for greater China.
"GOOD TV 2" first became on-air on Jan. 1 after the authorization of the Government Information Office, Republic of China (Taiwan). According to GOOD TV, the program of the new channel will be transmitted through satellite to avoid troubles with the strict monitoring over religious activities in Mainland China.
Audience in Taiwan will also need to install a so-called "mini-ear" satellite dish on their televisions before they can receive the signals.
"GOOD TV has received huge support from audience of online broadband programs and satellite broadcasting out of Taiwan. In face of the rising spiritual need of the overseas audience, we have received strong request to start some programs focusing on spiritual training," an introduction of the new channel on GOOD TV's website stated.
"After prayer and discussion, God gives us a new vision to develop GOOD TV 2 education channel."
Compared to the original GOOD TV channel, which is more family-focused, the new education channel will provide spiritual guidance and training for Christians. It serves two major purposes: to become the center of spiritual training in the media for the revival of the Kingdom of God and to support evangelism in the greater China area by providing education through the media.
The education channel features Sunday school broadcasting, evangelical conferences, sermons and among others. In North America, the programs are available through SATMEX 5 and IFTV (International Family Television). Please refer to the website http://www.goodtv.com.tw/about_world.phtml for details.
