A pictorial biography of the great English missionary Hudson Taylor is published by the Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death.
2005 is a very special year to the history of Chinese mission. It marks the 140th anniversary of the foundation of the China Inland Mission (CIM) by Hudson Taylor. OMF’s publication of "Christ Alone - A Pictorial Presentation of Hudson Taylor's Life and Legacy" will be a very good source to review how the life of the missionary has been closely tied to Christianity in China.
This pictorial includes over 100 valuable photos of Hudson Taylor's family and CIM's ministry in China and Asia. Also, a panoramic view of CIM/OMF ministries in China and East Asia and a collection of Hudson Taylor’s choice sayings are also recorded. The texts are bilingual- both Chinese and English are available.
According to OMF, Taylor’s life was characterized by frequent travel. Despite ill health, he labored tirelessly "to preach Christ to China." He has also been honored for playing a strong part in famine relief and the campaign to abolish the opium trade.
