Over 300 Chinese young Christians is expected to join the annual West Coast Chinese Christian Conference (WCCCC) Winter Conference at Christmas.
The three-day event will be held on Dec. 26-29 at Mount Hermon Conference Center in the Santa Cruz mountains. Under the theme "Wash One Another's Feet" from John 13:14, young Christians are challenged to examine the culture they live in today and to follow Christ’s example of humility and servitude.
According to WCCCC, the modern culture has shaped the people’s character to become more and more selfish. The consequence is therefore the disintegration of many relationships. It is reported that divorce rate, even among the Christians, is higher than ever before.
WCCCC will use the Winter Conference as an opportunity to urge young Christians to be "imitators of Christ" and "impact the generation through a renewal of relationship," because "Christians have the responsibility to preserve the goodness in this world."
The main speakers of the Winter Conference are Dr. Jeff Louie and Dr Milton Wan. Louie is a Senior Pastor at Sunset Chinese Baptist Church in San Francisco while Wan is a scholar of Theology and Chinese Philosophy.
The preparation committee of the WCCCC Winter Conference has been planning the programs since January. The programs include a number of workshops with a wide range of topics such as witnessing, evangelism, building healthy relationship with people and among others.
WCCCC is an evangelical fellowship of Chinese Christians committed to challenging and equipping God's people to serve on the mission field, with the support of a network of resources, training and encouragement. Some of them are avaible
The organization was founded in 1969 when a group of foreign born Chinese Christian students gathered together for fellowship over Christmas break. Now, WCCCC has already grown into a regional conference ministering to students and young adults, both foreign and American born, from over 100 different groups and churches.
