The Prison Fellowship International (PFI) marked the end of the International Council Meeting in Hong Kong with an ecumenical worship service on August 17.
Over 200 members of the PFI gathered at the BP International Hotel for a joint Protestant-Catholic-Orthodox ecumenical worship service. Irrespective of their confessions of faith and traditional, they united together to pray for world peace as well as the unity of churches worldwide.
With reference to the theme of the International Council Meeting "Living Hope", PFI members also prayed for the leaders and volunteers of the organization, prisoners, ex-offenders, victims and their families and friends, so that they can find a new life and new hope by the compassion and mercy of God.
The Chairman of the PFI Hong Kong Mr Stephen Lee said as the ministry of the PFI has been developing in different countries across the world, it brings the growth of the ecumenical relationship between denominations.
Lee commented the occasion represented the unity of the three denominations of Christianity and was a very touching scene.
Prison Fellowship International (PFI) is the global association of national Prison Fellowship (PF) organizations. It is inter-denominational, exists to mobilize and assist the Christian community in its ministry to prisoners, ex-offenders, victims and their families.
