Gospel-preaching radio stations with over decades of experience are close to celebrate their one year's worth of successful broadcasting service to mainland China.
Part of a Bible radio alliance, radio stations International Bible Society (IBS), Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH), and Trans World Radio (TWR), who started their broadcasting in the mainland on March 24, 2004, has estimated that their Radio Bible Project has gained more than 10 million listeners ever since.
Both broadcasting stations offer 15-minute radio programs which includes readings of scriptures, introductions, explanations of Biblical backgrouds, and life application teachings taken from the Life Application Bible. TWR increases broadcasting ranges by also offering the programs via the Internet at http://www.ktwr.net.
In addition to their programs and as part of their project, the partnered radio stations commit themselves in giving Biblical text and notes with Scripture recordings on cassette tapes/CDs to church leaders.
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and With the vision "to unite churches and make disciples of all nations," FCBH committed itself in recording Biblical translations onto audio form for the illiterate and the unreached, which is close to half the population of the world. Dr. Paul E. Fred founded the TWR radio group in 1952 as a non-profit organization, and he has shown his passion to reach the world for Christ through mass media. International Bible Society has translated and expanded its outreach ever since 1809.
Dr. David Tucker, President and CEO of TWR said, “The Radio Bible brings together in a wonderful mix the inerrant Word of God in a dramatized format, and the special gift of God to our generation—radio. With this combination, the ‘Word comes to life,’ particularly for those in oral societies. I am excited to think of the spiritual fruit this partnership brings to the glory of our Lord.”
The FCBH International Director testified, “God is using partnerships to bring His Word to those who have been locked away from Him due to illiteracy and poverty. We rejoice in the partnership with IBS and TWR and believe this project will allow millions to become disciples by hearing the whole New Testament and major stories of the Old Testament.”
“The potential of releasing God’s power through His Word through the Radio Bible Project is beyond measure,” said Peter Bradley, President of IBS. “We anticipate reaching many millions of people who speak any one of 22 languages over the next five years with the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
