Students around the nation will be gathering at local campuses to hold a day or prayer for their leaders, schools, and teachers.
See You at the Pole (SYATP) is a national day of prayer which began as a grassroots student movement when over 10 years ago youth group in Texas met to pray.
Millions of students are expected to participate in this year’s SYATP event, which will be held on Sept. 15, 2004. The theme will be “Ascend: Clean Hands. Pure Heart,” based on a passage from Psalm 24:3-4, reminding believers that only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ are they able to have “clean hands and a pure heart” to enter God’s presence.
Last year, more than 2 million teenagers gathered for prayer meetings in all 50 states. According to See You At the Pole, international reports were also received from six continents, including Australia, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Ghana, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Morocco, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Africa, and Turkey.
In addition to the SYATP event, students will meet in local churches on Sept. 11-12 to pray for Christian students and educators during “Campus Challenge Sunday.”
