The National Conference on Disability Ministry "Perfected in Weakness" has been schedule for November 5 and 6, 2004, at Central Assembly of God in Springfield, Missouri.
According to A/G, conference’s participants will attend in one of the three separate tracks depending on their field of ministry. These three tracks are: pastors and ministry leaders track, family life issues track and a children's ministry track. There will be also 5 sessions within each track. Each session will have a specific theme designed to teach participants necessary skills to lead a ministry dealing with the impossible demands that come with disabilities.
For instance, Intercultural Ministries Director Scott Temple will be teaching in a pastors track focusing on the theme of “Friendly answers to Impossible Demands”. Meanwhile, NCB director Paul Weingartner will lead a session in the family track focusing on training lay persons who wish to possess strong leadership skills in church.
As listed on A/G press release, other sessions will cover issues such as Building a Disability-friendly Church; Marriage, Romance and Disability; Including Kids with Disabilities in Children's Ministries; Disability 101 and many more. There will also be two break out sessions: Loneliness and Depression followed by Legal and Guardian Issues.
Among many respected session leaders are: Charles T. Chivers, Debbie Green, Don Couch, Larry and Penny Sauter, David Boyd, Ethel Campbell.
