SAN FRANCISCO, C.A.--Thousands of advocates for traditional marriage will rally on Sunday at the San Francisco City Hall, according to Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, "in response to last month's spree of homosexual 'marriages' at City Hall". Coinciding with the rally, Perkins said he will be speaking at both churches in San Francisco and churches of San Jose, who are gearing up for a recall of Mayor Ron Gonzales for his plans to recognize illegal same-sex marriages.
In February, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom allowed the City Hall to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. However, in early March, California's Supreme Court ordered San Francisco to stop issuing same-sex marriage licenses.
Tuesday, California's attorney general state's top legal affairs body to put new gay marriage cases on hold until a related case is resolved by the Supreme Court in late May.
