Christian supporters of traditional marriage stand their ground in front of the Boston Statehouse during the constitution convention Monday. Massachusetts Legislatures voted for an amendment that would ban gay marriage but allow for civil unions. Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney told reporters Monday that he will ask the Supreme Judicial Court to delay the delay is decision until after the amendment process has been completed. Romney’s order for a stay will prohibit any same-sex marriages from occurring even before May 17, the date that the highest court set had set last year for same-sex couples to begin receiving marriage licenses.
