BERKELEY, CA -- A biennial event, Interpraise, sponsored by Unity in Christ, which is an interfellowship ministry at UC Berkeley that binds over 23 fellowships on campus, including but not limited to: Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC), InterVarsity Fellowship (IVF), Alpha Delta Chi Christian Sorority and Alpha Gamma Omega Christian Fraternity, was held at First Presbyterian Church near UC Berkeley campus yesterday, March 17, providing a moment where Christians from all over the Berkeley campus could gather and praise the Lord as one body.
Hundreds of students gathered to worship and praise the Lord. The event started at 6:30pm and lasted for about three hours, moving the hearts of students with powerful praise by the Interpraise band and sermon by Pastor John Shim from Eastbay Baptist Church.
“I really liked the worship. I could feel God was moving in me. At the moment when there was no music, the praise was so much more powerful with just the students voice singing,” said Shannon, a freshman at UC Berkeley, who stayed for the whole praise night.
Dennis Cole, a senior, who has been leading Interpraise as the main guitarist, gave his reflection on his sixth Interpraise:
“What I learned from this praise night was that –whenever there is such event like this, I come with some expectation of what is going to happen but we actually don’t know what God would do. We don’t know what He is doing. Basically for tonight, I didn’t know what to expect. I go, have fun, praising and God does His work. He’s doing work in church to expand His kingdom and I think Interpraise is one step of spiritual ladder in making that happen.”
